2021 Annual General Meeting of Sarawak Timber Association

The 2021 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Sarawak Timber Association will be held virtually on Thursday, 30 December 2021 at 10.30am through Zoom platform. The Notice of AGM has been sent out today, 9 December 2021 to all members together with the Reply Slip. Members are requested to confirm their attendance by filling in and returning the Reply Slip to the STA Secretariat on or before Monday, 20 December 2021. 3rd IUFRO ACACIA CONFERENCE 2021

Themed “Embracing Transformation for Sustainable Management of Industrial Forest Plantations”, the 3rd IUFRO Acacia Conference 2021 will be held from 26 to 28 October. It aims to address the application of technology and innovation in upstream and downstream research and development. There will be a showcase of paper presentations, posters, exhibition and virtual tours. The conference will share knowledge, research findings and experience from different disciplines, discuss current issues on Industrial Forest Plantations (IFP) management and ways forward, and strengthen collaboration among participants.

DEFERMENT OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2021

In accordance with Article 5(a) of the Articles of Association of the Association, an Annual General Meeting of the Association shall be held as soon as after 1st January as is feasible and not later than 31st March. At the Council Meeting No. 1/2021 held on 8 March 2021, the Council had decided to fix the date for calling the Annual General Meeting 2021 (AGM 2021) on 29 June 2021.

However, COVID-19 pandemic has since worsened and a statewide Movement Control Order (MCO) was declared by Sarawak Goverment to start from 29 May 2021 until 11 June 2021 and further extended to 14 June 2021. In view of this, the Council had decided through a resolution in writing to further defer the AGM 2021 until situation improves.
