MEMBERSHIP

STA serves approximately 360 member companies which are involved in either the upstream or downstream activities of the timber industry and its subsequent trade. They deal with timber and timber products, which include logs, sawntimber, plywood, mouldings/dowels, furniture, furniture parts, laminated boards and other panel products.

Any interested company or organisation having timber business and/or operation in Sarawak can apply to be a member of STA under the following categories:

Forest Plantation
Hill Logging
Swamp Logging

Furniture & Other Woodworking
Moulding
Sawmilling

Log Marketing
Panel Products
Timber Products Marketing

Application for membership must be made in writing using the application form provided and supported by a proposer and a seconder who are members of STA for at least one (1) year at the time of the application.

Upon obtaining approval from the Council, the new member shall then first be admitted as an Associate member for a period of not less than five (5) years before becoming eligible to apply to convert to be a member.
