SARAWAK TIMBER ASSOCIATION PROVIDED BAGS AND STATIONARY TO STUDENTS OF SEKOLAH KEBANGSAAN NANGA KUA, SELANGAU

All the 100 students who are enrolled in classes ranging from pre-school to primary 6 of Sekolah Kebangsaan Nanga Kua, Selangau were ready to study at the start of this academic year, with each student receiving a school bag with essential stationery from Sarawak Timber Association. This project was launched last year with the aim of ensuring the students have proper school bag and appropriate stationery for studying, and at the same time easing the financial burden of parents having to send these children to school. IT IS TIME FOR STA CASH AWARDS AGAIN!

STA, through its subsidiary company, STA Mutual Sdn Bhd (STAM) with the objective to develop and improve the welfare of communities in Sarawak, irrespective of race, religion or creed continues its effort to provide Cash Awards to outstanding SPM and STPM students who sat examination in year 2016 based on meritocracy. This project was started in year 2016, as part of STA’s corporate social responsibility efforts in recognizing and encouraging students who excel. Last year, STAM awarded Cash Awards to 449 students in the SPM category and 168 students in the STPM category. Click here for more information.

114 STUDENTS OF SEKOLAH RENDAH LAU HUI KANG, SUAI AND 76 STUDENTS OF SEKOLAH KEBANGSAAN LONG PELUTAN, BARAM RECEIVES A HELPING HAND FROM SARAWAK TIMBER ASSOCIATION

Sarawak Timber Association (STA) through its subsidiary company STA Mutual Sdn Bhd (STAM) continues to provide assistance by providing a school bag and a set of stationery to students studying in schools located within the STA member companies’ concession areas. The Association had channeled the assistance through STA members companies with the aim to provide a more conducive learning environment to the students in the rural areas. Click here for more information.

SARAWAK TIMBER ASSOCIATION TO GIVE CASH AWARDS TO SPM STUDENTS WHO EXCELLED IN THEIR EXAMINATION FOR YEAR 2016

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility projects, Sarawak Timber Association through its subsidiary companies, STA Mutual Sdn Bhd (STAM) started this project to recognize and encourage bright students from Sarawak who had excelled in the two public examinations. The Association has selected a total of 747 SPM and 215 STPM students who obtained excellent results in these two public examinations in year 2016 to receive Cash Awards. These students will be receiving the Cash Awards in a presentation ceremony organized by Sarawak Timber Association, which will be held at Wisma STA, Kuching on 21 July 2017. SARAWAK TIMBER ASSOCIATION TO GIVE OUT CASH AWARDS TO OUTSTANDING SPM AND STPM STUDENTS IN SIBU AND MIRI

Sarawak Timber Association will be giving away the STA Cash Awards to students who obtained excellent results in the SPM and STPM examinations they sat in year 2016. These students have been selected from their applications submitted to the Association following the release of results of these two public examinations recently. LAUNCHING CEREMONY OF PILOT PROJECTS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE AUDIT

KUCHING: The Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) Sarawak in collaboration with Sarawak Timber Association (STA) will launch the Pilot Projects for Environmental Compliance Audit in the Forestry Sector on 9th November 2017 at Hilton Hotel Kuching. The Pilot Projects is intended to prepare the industries for the full implementation of the Natural Resources (Audit) Rules, 2008, a rule made under Section 18(q) of the Natural Resources and Environment Ordinance, 1993. Apart from enhancing environmental stewardship, the ultimate objective of this audit rule is self-regulation among private and corporate sectors in Sarawak. Click here for more information.
